“Led By The Lord”

The book of Jeremiah 29:11 says 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future...I was not always a Christian, and one day an older lady who was visiting my next door neighbor invited me to church. It was during a 21-day revival (of which I only missed two nights) that I became convicted of the love of God for me. At the end of the revival I was baptized.A few months later, I was invited to a correctional facility by a dear friend, Dr. Isaac Fordjour. Needless to say, since then, I have spent 40 plus years of my life, faithfully visiting the prisons baptizing over nine hundred souls. My greatest challenge has been when an inmate asks the question, “when I am released, where will I go, I have no place to live, to start my life over, I can’t get a job because of my criminal background.”I was so moved by this, that one day, I appealed to my wife about taking in an ex-convict under these circumstances, and after much prayer, we allowed a man to come into our home and live with us for over two years. The Lord blessed the man with a sound job and he was able to move out independently. Not too long after, we took in another young man from the institution who not only completed his high school education; but with the help of our church, he was able to attend Andrews University. What a wonderful God we serve.God knew the plans he had for me… And so I pray, “oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain.” (I chronicles 4:10) I believe that God has called me to pursue the welfare of ex-inmates, veterans, and at-risk-youths, and it is my intentions, without reservations, to do His will for L.I.A.
